Job Title: Water Technician/Meter Reader

Company Profile: Lakes Region Water Company Inc. is a small, privately-owned public water utility that has been providing service to the Lakes Region for over 35 years. During this time, our Moultonborough-based business has expanded to service approximately 1,750 customers in select towns throughout the Lakes Region.
General: Full time/40 hours per week; Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with mandatory on call hours rotating nights, weekends, and Holidays.
Job Description/Duties:
- Perform water quality sampling for 35+ water systems as required by the NH Department of Environmental Services
- Perform weekly pumphouse checks for 35+ water systems
- Perform monthly water meter readings for customer billings
- Coordinate water sampling bottle delivery & pickups with Laboratory
- Communicate with labs & regulating agencies to make sure we’re in compliance with State regulations
- Install & repair customer water meters; Troubleshoot meter issues
- Customer service calls for water service connections/disconnections
- Must maintain effective communication with Company management
- Willing to attend continuing education courses
Skills:
- MUST be computer literate (read & respond to emails, use of internet to retrieve water sampling schedules & forms, basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word)
- Able to follow instructions & comply with State requirements
- Analytical
- Friendly customer service
- Strong organizational skills
- Very reliable
- Capable of operating entry level field kits for evaluating water quality (measure pH, alkalinity, hardness, etc.)
Experience: Water operator license preferred but will train the right person (must obtain Water Operator License Grade 1A or higher within 1 year)
Education: Minimum High School Diploma Required
